You can even customize the flavour by adding different fruits or vegetables such as blueberries, carrots, applesauce, etc. The combination of these dog friendly ingredients makes delicious little cupcakes that your pup is sure to love!

Ingredients

Pup-cakes

  • 1cup whole wheat flour
  • ¼ rolled oats
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup pumpkin purée
  • 2 carrots, peeled and grated
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas

“Icing”

  • 1 block cream cheese
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter

Directions

  1. Preheat a fan-forced oven to 140°C (275°F) or a conventional oven to 160°C (320°F). Line a cupcake tin with silver lined cupcake liners.
  2. Add the flour, rolled oats and baking powder to a large mixing bowl. Use a whisk to mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, oil, mashed bananas and mashed pumpkin into the bowl and mix using a spatula until well combined. Then add the grated carrot and mix to combine.
  4. Use a scoop to scoop the mixture into the cupcake liners. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow pupcakes to cool completely.
  5. To make the frosting mix together the room temperature cream cheese and peanut butter.

Tuna Tart

These tuna tarts are sure to make your kitty cat’s go crazy! That’s right, a cake made with tuna! This delicious cake consists of tuna, egg whites and shrimp; packed full of packed full of vitamins and minerals for your fur ball. Here’s all you need:​​​​​​

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg white
  • ⅛ teaspoon shredded mild Cheddar cheese
  • 4 peeled, cooked shrimp

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray 2 muffin tin cups with cooking spray.
  2. Combine tuna, flour, egg white, and Cheddar cheese in a bowl. Fill the prepared muffin cups equally with the mixture.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Let cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Garnish cakes with shrimp.

Bunny Carrot Cake

Carrot cake is a classic dessert that can be enjoyed by everyone, rabbits included! This recipe calls for grated carrots, parsley leaves, and lettuce for ‘flavour’, plus rolled oats to help it rise. For the icing, mash up an overripe banana to create an indulgent topping that’s sure to delight your furry friends.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp. parsley leaves
  • 1 Romaine lettuce leaf
  • 3 tbsp shredded carrot +1 tbsp for garnish
  • 1/4 overripe banana

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place oats, parsley, lettuce and 3 tbsp. carrot into food processor.
  2. Process until the vegetables look flaky and the mixture can be pressed into a sticky dough.
  3. Press the dough into the round dough cutter. Bake the cake inside the dough cutter at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes.
  4. Mash ¼ of an overripe banana with a fork until smooth.
  5. Spoon the mashed banana onto the top of the cake, and spread to cover the top with banana “icing.”
  6. Sprinkle remaining 1 tbsp. shredded carrot on top of the cake and remove the cake from the dough cutter.
