Thinking about a holiday cancellation due to a pet illness is like a double whammy of awfulness. But as part of our Pet Insurance, we offer cover for holiday cancellations, should your pet need lifesaving treatment or if they go missing while you're away.
What is Covered by Our Holiday Cancellation Insurance?
If you, or a member of your family travelling with you, needs to cancel the trip because your pet needs lifesaving treatment, then you already have enough on your mind.
That's why we offer holiday cancellation cover. If you've had that terrible news less than 7 days before you were meant to travel, we may be able to help towards your lost travel and accommodation expenses up to £3,000, depending on the level of cover you chose.
Likewise, we could also help if you need to bring your sun-soaking to an earlier-than-planned conclusion because your hairy Houdini has pulled an escape act.

What's Not Covered?
Now you know our level of cover can help towards lost travel and accommodation costs, it's only fair that we tell you what's not included:
- Costs for anyone else on the holiday who isn't in your family.
- Cutting your break short for non-lifesaving pet treatment.
- Vet treatment for pre-existing conditions.
- Treatment for poisoning or any accidental injury that happens in the first 3 days of your policy start date.*
- Illnesses or symptoms occurring in the first 14 days of your policy start date.*
- Escapes that were booked less than 28 days before travelling.
- If you already have travel insurance or another source for claiming back travel and accommodation expenses.
- Rabbits. Sorry bunny lovers, our holiday cancellation cover is only for dogs and cats.
*Don’t worry, if you have switched to Everypaw from another provider and your previous policy was in place for longer than 14 days, with no gaps in cover, we can waive these exclusion periods.
Taking Your Pet with You?
Our holiday cancellation cover may be able to help if your pet goes missing while you're away. But, if you'd prefer your four-legged best friend to be adventuring with you, we also offer cover for vet fees overseas.
The cover can help towards treatment costs, anywhere in the EU, as a result of accidents or injuries up to £10,000 (depending on the level of cover you chose) for a maximum of 90 holiday days per year.

Last-minute holidays cancellations are never easy. They can also be pretty expensive. That's why our Pet Insurance offers the chance to recoup some of those losses.
- You can make or track progress of a claim in the Pet Portal.
- Alternatively, download a claims form and submit using the process on the form.

There are many valid reasons for cancelling a holiday. One of those is because your pet needs lifesaving medical attention. Another is because they've gone missing.
But if either of these unthinkable scenarios occurs and you need to either cancel an upcoming stay or cut one short, we can help with holiday cancellation cover.
We just need to be sure that your holiday was booked more than 28 days before travel. If you cancel before travelling, your holiday should be less than 7 days away. We'll also need to check with your vet that your furry friend's condition was life-threatening.
Your pooch or pussycat are probably fit as a fiddle. So, you can jet off to sunnier climes (with or without them) and everything will be fine.
But having holiday cancellation cover included on your Pet Insurance is a useful added bonus. It's doubly handy if your furry best friend goes missing or needs lifesaving surgery either in the week before you go or while you're away.
We mentioned earlier that we may be able to help with the costs if you, or a family member travelling with you, need to cancel a trip because your pet needs lifesaving treatment. But what do we mean by "family member travelling with you".
When we say "family member" we mean your:
- Spouse
- Civil partner
- Partner who you currently live wiith
- Children
- Parents
- Other relatives who live with you
