Renowned for their calm temperament and friendliness, these adorable cats can make affectionate companions that all the family will love.

2. Maine Coon

With beautiful bushy tails and a sociable nature, Maine Coons are very popular on TikTok. The hashtag #MaineCoon has amassed 6.1 billion combined views, with people all over the world sharing the love for these furry felines.

3. Ragdoll

Rounding up the top three most popular cat breeds on TikTok are Ragdolls, with 5.5 billion combined views under the hashtag #Ragdoll. These adorable bundles of fur are full of energy and very playful so will need a lot of stimulation.

4. Sphynx

On the opposite end of the fluffiness scale to Ragdolls are Sphynx Cats. While not as furry, they’re definitely still as popular, amassing 5.2 billion combined views under the hashtag #Sphyx and 912.8 million under #SphynxOfTikTok.

Sphynx Cats are fiercely loyal and prefer warmer homes as their distinct lack of hair means they feel the cold more than other breeds.

5. Scottish Fold

One of the most unique cat breeds on the list, you can recognise a Scottish Fold by its folded ears. Laid-back, friendly and the perfect companion, it makes sense that the hashtag #ScottishFold has received 4.1 billion combined views.

Although it’s worth noting that Scottish Folds have a genetic mutation that affects the development of cartilage so you need to do thorough research to ensure you have the means to properly look after one before thinking about adopting or buying.

6. Bengal

9. Siberian

10. Savannah

Taking the final spot in the top ten, the hashtag #SavannahCat has 978.3 million combined views. Savannah Cats are active, curious and very intelligent so will keep you on your toes, but they’re also very loyal and are great for families with older children.
